Strands and ropes - net accessories
When something falls down, you can always rope it up.
We produce and provide spun strands and ropes from polyamide and polypropylene that can be used for anchoring, towing or dragging.
Strands and ropes cannot be ever used for passive or active protection of people!!!
Polypropylene strands and ropes
These strands and ropes are light, buoyant, do not absorb water and their mechanic properties (flexibility and plasticity) are same in the air even in the water. When using appropriate knots, these can be untangled even after tightening a wet strand or rope.
Polypropylene strands and ropes are acid-proof and are lighter than strands and ropes from polyamide by 30%.
Disadvantages in comparison with polyamide strands and ropes are
- lower endurance and resistance against abrasion
- lower fusion point (150°C)
- shorter durability - polypropylene material losses its flexibility and endurance rapidly
Strands and ropes are made in basic colours - white, red, yellow, green, blue, black and in diameters as given in the following table.
Spinning can be smooth or cruciform according to application.
| Diameter (mm) | Length of 1 kg (m) | Endurance (kg) | Package |
| 2,5 | 500 | 50 | spool c. 1 kg, bag |
| 3 | 230 | 70 | spool c. 1 kg, bag |
| 4 | 140 | 110 | spool c. 1 kg, bag |
| 5 | 100 | 130 | spool c. 1 kg, bag |
| 6 | 80 | 150 | spool c. 1 kg, bag |
| 8 with core | 50 | 300 | bundle, bag |

Polyamide strands and ropes
Polyamide strands and ropes are essential for everyone who works close to the water with nets and other equipment.
Polyamide has perfect properties and for them it is widely used in fisheries and fisheries research. All our nets are made from polyamide material.
Polyamide strings with smooth spinning are used for mounting netting by hand and attaching nets to their frames, for repairing ragged nets and for anchoring buoys and floats.
Polyamide ropes and strands are contained in all our nets. They are used as anchor, drag or tow ropes and strands.
The greatest advantages of polyamide material are high flexibility and endurance, the same durability in air as when permanently submersed in the water, high resistance against abrasion and a fusion point of 180°C.
Disadvantages in comparison with polypropylene material are
- polyamide strands and ropes are not buoyant and harden in the water
- knots made on wet strands or ropes cannot be untangled
- polyamide strands and ropes are heavier even when dry
